July 21, 1956 to March 14, 2021

Michael Ray Williams Sr., 64, passed peacefully in his sleep on March 14, 2021, at 6:15p.m. in Lake Havasu City, AZ.

Michael was born on July 21, 1956, in McCook, Nebraska, to Lyle and Alvena Williams. Raised in Lincoln, NE, until age 14 when the family moved to Emporia, KS. At 17, Michael joined the Army National Guard. In 1974, Michael met the love of his life Eileen Morris through a friend. On March 1, 1975, Michael and Eileen were married in the home of Lyle and Alvena Williams. Their union was blessed with 4 children, 13 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Michael was a bull rider in the rodeos, a cowboy on ranches, and later became an “Outlaw” trucker for most of his life. He was a cowboy at heart. Always saying he was born in the wrong era. If there was not horses, boots, and spurs involved, he was not complete. His heroes were all cowboys John Wayne, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Mo Bandy, and many more.

Michael was very dedicated to his wife and children. Doing whatever it took to make them happy. His family was the most important thing in his life. He loved spending time at the lake with the family. One of his simple pleasures was watching his grandchildren play sport. He loved seeing pictures and hearing updates of all his grandchildren. He was extremely proud of his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.

In the era he loved, a man was often considered rich by how large his family was. So, Michael was a very rich man.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Alvena Williams. He is survived by his father Lyle Williams (Susan) of Emporia, KS. Loving wife of 46 years, Eileen Williams. Son Michael Jr. (Stacy) of Madison, KS. Daughter Brandy Baker (David Jr.) of Neosho Rapids, KS. Son Jedediah Williams (Michelle) of Ellinwood, KS. Son Arian Williams, of Madison, KS. Sisters Frances Statler, of Lincoln, NE, and Gail Lewis and Janette Williams, both of Emporia, KS.

Grandchildren/great grandchildren: Brittney (Hunter, Megan, Owen), Natasha, Gwen, Briana, Jesse, Tara, Duncan, Cameron, Xavier, Trinity (Kai-Ray, Rosalee), Kayla, Dominic, Haylee. And many nieces and nephews and extended children throughout the years.

An old fashion wake to celebrate his life will be held at 718 Walnut in Neosho Rapids, KS, on July 10, 2021, at 3 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Music and laughter will be provided.

Per Michael’s last wish, please bring a covered dish, fireworks, and BYOB to honor his memory. “Let the good times roll”
