Carrie Ann (Westbrook) Mezo passed away at age 43 on December 18, 2020 and was welcomed into heaven alongside her husband (Mike). Carrie and Mike were married on July 10, 1999 which gave them 21 years, 5 months and 8 days of fun loving endeavors.

She was preceded in death by her Mom, Donna Westbrook; Grandparents, Maxine & Herman Pulley and Max Crawford; Great Grandparents, Pauline & Martin Courneya.

Carrie was born on October 18, 1977 in East Chicago, IN to James and Donna (Pulley) Westbrook.

Her love and passion for dogs inspired her to become a dog trainer. Pursuing her dreams led her to become the owner and founder of The Dog Thinks What?. Working from home allowed her more time to devote to Niko, Mike, and her garden.

A person’s life is best measured by the lives of those they have touched. She will always be remembered for her positive outlook on life, always seeing the bright side of negativity, and following her dreams. She was an inspiration to many. She loved her husband, son, family and dog training. Her nieces will always remember her for movie nights, sleepovers, parties at her house, fire pits and smores. She will be forever remembered as the crazy and fun loving aunt. Her warm hugs will always be missed. Her loving son Niko will miss her warm smile, her happiness,and her love & affection for everyone around her. He will also miss the time he spent with her training dogs.

Carrie is loved and missed by her surviving family and will always be remembered dearly: (Son) Niko Mezo, (Dad) Wayne & (Mom) Donna (deceased) Westbrook, (Sisters) Carolyn (Dale) Sifuentes, Cathy(Nate) Strong, (Nieces) Alana, Allison & Alexie. (Grandma) Andrea (Warren) Sabo, (God Daughter) Andi (Jake) Suprano.

Aunts & Uncles: Robby (Tracie) Crawford, Jeff Crawford, Robert (Kathryn) Pulley, Diane Street, Judy (Jack) Hankla, David Pulley, Donald Deming.

Mother in law Allison Daronatsy, Father in law Michael Mezo, Mother in law Cathi Mezo, Sister in laws Sarah (Steve) Walsh-Mezo, Rachel (Matthew) Mezo-Veronesi, Brother in law Ken (Erin) Sunny. Carrie will be missed on both sides of her family by many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins

Throughout her life she has made many friends and had many co-workers that love and will miss her. The imprint Carrie left on family and friends will be forever remembered.

Niko’s loving message to his Mom: “I did not show appreciation for her when she was around. I realize now that I should’ve tried to spend more time as possible with her. I will cherish every memory I have with her and I wish she was here.”
