Basil Mikaati

September 19, 1940 to June 5, 2021

Basil Mkiaati passed on to Heaven on June 5, 2021 at his home in Lake Havasu City, AZ. His wife Janet was at his side. He was 80 years old.

Basil was born on September 19, 1940 in Cairo, Egypt to Abdul Munim and Agnes (Bell) El-Mikaati. He attended school in Cairo and then attended university in London, England. After graduating from Hammersmith College in London with a degree in structural engineering, Basil moved to Boston and became a US Citizen. Through his career in structural engineering, Basil received numerous awards and certifications.

On February 14, 2000 Basil married Janet Virginia Fernandez. Through their love and devotion to one another Basil enjoyed his hobbies of scuba diving, glider flying, boating and skiing. He dedicated his life to Jesus. Basil loved attending church services and bible study. With his wife Janet Basil prayed nightly for friends and family members.

He is survived by his wife Janet, his brother Ramsey, daughter Michelle, and grandchildren Mikaela, Conor, and Dylan. He also loved Janet’s brother and sister’s, grandchildren and great grandson.

Services were held at Bradbury Memorial Center and he was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery in California.
